How to become close to him?

Okay so he's the bestfriend of my bestfriends boyfriend and sometimes i get to see him. He's cute, laid back, he's has that chill vibe, he boards. He's the kind of guy who likes mick jagger, the white stripes, bands like that, I like some of them too. I don't know how i can get close or talk to him cause im intimidated.
