How to play files on your usb if your dvd player has a usb port?

I have a pioneer dvd player and i have some videos on my usb that i wanted to play on the tv. my dvd player has a usb port but i dont know how to access all my data on the usb . im not sure what model it is but it looks very similar to the pioneer DVR-545HX-S .
