Dish Network DVR box will not turn on. Is there anything I can do?

Starting off, it turns on for literally a second and then shuts off. We have tried unplugging it and pressing the button for a minute ect. We called, did all they said to do and still nothing. Now, we have all of our saved movies and shows recorded and they said we could put it on an external hard drive. Is there any way the box itsself can be fixed through a professional and they could save our movies??
